untitled okay..

So, uh, hey there. Been a while but whatever. I hope you guys are still around. I'll still write something anyway.

Sit back and enjoy.
I'm going to recommend some shows from this season that I feel have been overlooked or aren't appreciated enough. Now, I don't claim to watch every single show each season but I'm pretty sure I watch way more than the average viewer. I won't list everything. They're shows that I look forward to every week and now that the season is almost over it's a pretty good time to catch up. They're all two cour, after all.

Strike the Blood
This show isn't outstanding or anything but it is fun. Better described as Index with a better Touma, Misaka as main heroine, and all the characters are much more rational that they feel like real people. It subverts tropes and cliches so often that it's become somewhat of a main selling point. If you don't like LN battle shonen then I'm not sure if this will change your mind but I would at least recommend you give it a try. It takes the formula and manages to still be fresh. Also, Kishida Kyoudan OP.

Nagi no Asukara
I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying this show. Usually these melodramatic love polygons tend to layer the melodrama too thick. There's a good balance between the slice of life, conflict, and romance. It's fun to see what happens next or at least I find it fun. I like the music too and the visuals do look pretty at certain points. Addressing the obvious, the studio behind this is P.A. Works with Mari Okada on series composition. Who knows what kind of shit they're going to pull but so far I really like it.

Samurai Flamenco
A show that has been a hot topic recently due to its plot. Even if you know what I'm talking about, it's still an amazing show. Obviously, you'd appreciate it more if you're a fan of Tokusatsu but I'd still recommend it. Think of it as a parody and homage while still trying to do its own thing. Its got my seal of approval as one of the best shows this season. Go watch it now if you haven't!

So there you have it. I'll try to get back into the swing of things but no promises. For now I leave you with a really useful video. Even more useful if you played Skyrim.
